artandthebryophyte is a mixed media exhibition resulting from the collaboration between Julie Ryder and scientist Dr D. Christine Cargill, Curator of the Cryptogam Herbarium at the ANBG, as part of the ANAT Synapse New Media Art residency program. The work in this exhibition focusses on Cargill’s research on bryophytes and cryptogams; the history of botanical science, scientific collection and taxonomy; and the early botanical exploration and colonisation of Australia.
