Introduction to Cyanotype

Join me in celebrating the birthday of the woman who pioneered the Cyanotype process, Anna Atkins. This full-day workshop will introduce you in an introduction to the cyanotype process, a way of creating photographs without a camera. Commencing with a brief history of the technique, we will then use a variety of materials to create unique blue and white artworks inspired by nature, using the sun as our light source. You will learn about:. the chemicals involved and how to prepare them.. how to prepare your own paper and textiles. how to use a variety of materials for collage effects. how to tone your photograms for special effects
All materials provided. No experience necessary. Please note: parts of this workshop will be conducted outdoors.
Morning tea and refreshments provided, participants must bring their own lunch.
