Shibori or Cyanotype Lampshade

Create your unique fabric for a lampshade using either shibori and indigo OR cyanotype in this flexible 2 day workshop.
For Cyanotype: This workshop takes place on Friday 31 Jan 10-4pm and Sunday 2 Febrary 10-4pm. On the Friday we prepare the fabrics using the cyanotype process . We will explore the cyanotype process on paper whilst our fabric is drying and then expose our lampshade fabric in the afternoon. On the Sunday we meet again to make the lampshade.
For Shibori +Indigo: This workshop starts on Saturday 1 February 10-4pm and concludes on Sunday 2nd February when we make the lampshade. On the first day of the workshop, you will create your own fabric using either arashi, itajime, or bomaki shibori, which will then be dyed in the organic or mineral indigo vats at my Weetangera Studio. (NB: if you would like to create your fabric using nui (stitched shibori) there is the option of picking up your fabric before the workshop so you have time to stitch it before dyeing in the vat. As there is only one day for the indigo dyeing, any stitched patterns will need to be done beforehand.
For both workshops: We will be turning your fabric into a 30cm round drum lampshade with a professional lampshade maker.
