7 March - 18 April 2002 Planet, Surry Hills NSW Territory draws inspiration from the Australian landscape, reflecting both aerial and subterranean views of cultivated fields, waterholes and paddocks as well as geological strata and aboriginal middens. Stitching transforms the surface of the cloth so that, like the landscape it becomes three-dimensional, a rugged terrain, that speaks of the richness of the soil as well as the destruction caused by salinity.
